Silicon manganese alloy is a block like solid with metallic luster, with a specific gravity of 6.0-6.4, a melting point of 1517, a boiling point of 2378, a melting heat of 7.37KJ/mol, and an evaporation heat of 22500KJ/mol
Silicon manganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron, and a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a widely used and high-yield ferroalloy. Its consumption ranks second among electric furnace ferroalloy products. Manganese and silicon in manganese silicon alloys have a strong affinity for oxygen. When manganese silicon alloys are used in steelmaking, the deoxygenation products MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4 have melting points of 1270 ℃ and 1327 ℃, respectively. They have the advantages of low melting point, large particle size, easy floating, and good deoxygenation effect. Under the same conditions, using manganese or silicon for deoxidation alone resulted in a burn loss rate of 46% and 37%, respectively, while using manganese silicon alloy for deoxidation resulted in a burn loss rate of 29% for both.
Application: steelmaking/refractory materials, steelmaking, steelmaking
1. Silicon manganese alloy is mainly used as an intermediate material for deoxidizer and alloying agent in steel production, to eliminate excess oxygen and sulfur in steel liquid, and improve the quality and performance of steel.
2. Silicon manganese alloy can significantly improve the elasticity and magnetic permeability of steel. Therefore, when smelting structural steel, tool steel, spring steel, and silicon steel for transformers, silicon manganese alloy should be used.
3. Silicon manganese alloy can reduce the brittleness of steel, improve its hot working performance, and increase its strength, hardness, and wear resistance.
