Metal silicon, also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is mainly used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys. Metal silicon is a product produced by smelting quartz and coke in an electric furnace, with a main component silicon element content of about 98%, and other impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
In China, metallic silicon is usually classified according to the content of the three main impurities, namely iron, aluminum, and calcium. According to the percentage content of iron, aluminum, and calcium in metallic silicon, it can be divided into different grades such as 553, 441, 411, 421, 3303, 3305, 2202, 2502, 1501, 1101, etc. In each grade, the first and second codes represent the percentage content of iron and aluminum, while the third and fourth digits represent the calcium content. So 2202 represents the content of iron, aluminum, and calcium in metallic silicon, which is 0.2%, 0.2%, and 0.02%. 2202 metallic silicon is an industrial purified elemental silicon.
The characteristics of the Metal Silicon 2202
Chemical composition: The silicon content of metal silicon 2202 is about 99.5%.
Usage: 2202 metal silicon is mainly used for solar photovoltaic products, production of organic silicon, production of high-purity semiconductor materials, and preparation of alloys with special applications.
Production method: The traditional production method for 2202 metallic silicon is mainly smelting.
